Last
year’s ambient opera is a hit show that has triumphed winning both
festival awards: The Novi List Award for the most complete performance
of Rijeka Summer Nights 2010 and the Audience Award. This year, the show
returns to the square in front of Rijeka’s cathedral in a refreshed
performance with some new, renowned opera names in the cast. On the
first performance evening, Kristina Kolar, Anđelka Ruškin and Helena
Lucić will be joined by the famous baritone Yury Nechaev, already
known to Rijeka’s audience, in the role of Alfi. Yury Neachev has
performed most of his opera roles in the Bolshoi Theatre, the Parisian
Opera, Milan’s La Scala and the Metropolitan Opera. On both evenings, we
will be enjoying the performance of Zoran Todorovich – a world renowned
tenor of exceptional voice who shall be introduced to Rijeka’s audience
for the very first time in the role of Turiddu. Zoran Todorovich is
considered one of the world’s most interesting tenors because of the
broadness of his repertoire and has made his career on the world’s
leading stages, starting from Europe, across the USA and to Japan. |
