The Gerardo Núñez flamenco trio

Gerardo Núñez, one of the technically most proficient flamenco guitar soloists, will give a performance at the "Rijeka Summer Nights" on July 1 at 9.30 p.m. at Trsatska gradina with Carmen Cortés and Jesús Méndez. The price of the ticket is HRK 150.

A virtuoso guitar player, Gerardo Núñez accompanied famous flamenco singers such as Tío Gregorio El Borrico, Terremoto de Jerez, José el de la Tomasa and Manuel Mairena already at the age of 14. Later on he moved to Madrid where he worked with various famous professional dance companies, including Mario Maya’s worldwide famous company. That is where he met dancer Carmen Cortés, who was later to become his wife and with whom he made a series of performances and tours. In Madrid he started cooperating with superior jazz musicians (Tomás San Miguel, Jorge Pardo, Dave Thomas, José Antonio Galicia and Paquito D´Rivera).
